Official News from the Executive Committee Meeting on 24-25 February 2021
Dear Members of the Authorities,
Dear Presidents of Federations and Unions,
The FIG Executive Committee (EC) held its first meeting of the year on 24–25 February by videoconference. Below, you can read a summary of the main decisions taken during this meeting.
2021 COUNCIL
The EC decided that the next meeting of the Council, in May, will not take place on site in Swakopmund, Namibia, as planned, due to the current global travel restrictions and difficulties. It will be replaced with a videoconference meeting.
ELECTIONS OF ATHLETES’ REPRESENTATIVES
The EC agreed that the elections of the athletes’ representatives for Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Trampoline Gymnastics shall take place during the 2021 World Championships. While the Statutes require that these elections be held during the World Championships in the year following the Olympic Games, the one-year postponement of the Olympic Games is considered an exceptional situation that was not foreseen in the FIG Statutes.
TECHNICAL REGULATIONS
The EC discussed all modifications made to the 2022 Technical Regulations. They will be submitted to the Council in May for approval.
WORLD CUP RULES
The EC has approved the Rules for:
- Artistic Gymnastics – All-Around World Cups 2022–24

FIG MAGAZINE
The EC agreed that the FIG stop producing the World of Gymnastics magazine after the issue dated October 2020 (N.90). Instead of a magazine, the FIG will now publish the Yearbook, with the first edition planned for 2022.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS
The EC unanimously agreed to submit the 2020 financial report, the auditors’ reports and the 2021 budget. They will be submitted to Council in May for approval.
